Twelve Days - Cover and Table of Contents
Ladies and gentleman, the day has finally arrived when we can tell you about this awesome book we've been making. The concept behind "Twelve Days" was to create a book that would allow you to really give your 'true love' all the things in the famous song, in the form of stories (provided, of course, that your true love likes stories). So we put out a submission call looking for twelve stories to correlate with the twelve gifts in the song. And oh boy, did our writers deliver! We've created a collection with a little bit for everyone. There's magic and fear. There are gryphons and monsters and devils and cats. There are happy stories of triumph and friendship, dark stories of fear, and gritty tales of real life. The book will be released in a large fully illustrated art-book format. There will also be a smaller paperback version for those of you who just want the stories and don't care about the pretty. And of course, it will be available in both epub and mobi format for the ebook aficionados. But really, you're going to want the illustrated book, because it's going to be exquisite. So without further ado, let us show you the sleek and beautiful cover that Will has designed for us. We're both super happy with it, and really hope you'll love it as much as we do.
The book includes the following stories: Twelve Drummers Drumming: A Father's Revenge by Chris Marchant Eleven Pipers Piping: Beautiful, Infernal Music by Carl R. Jennings Ten Lords a-Leaping: Improvised Luck by Lisa Timpf Nine Ladies Dancing: Sal by Matt McGee Eight Maids a-Milking: Motherhood by S.L. Dixon Seven Swans a-Swimming: A Phoenix and the Moon by Lora Gray Six Geese a-Laying: Bombing Run for the Holidays by Robert Allen Lupton Five Gold Rings: The Coterie of Magic by Donna Cuttress Four Calling Birds: Tinsel by Carol Murphy Three French Hens: Flattered but Spoken for by Sarah Doebereiner Two Turtle Doves: La Serenissima by Elana Gomel A Partridge in a Pear Tree: The Forever Fruit by Joshua McCall Over the next few weeks we'll be giving you a bit more information about each of the stories, and maybe even a sneak peak at some of the illustrations. We'll be launching a PledgeMe campaign in two to three weeks' time where you'll be able to pre-order the book in whichever format you prefer. There may even be a few extra items and rewards available by then too. We're really excited and proud of this book. It's thrilling to be so close to putting it out into the world. Keep an eye on our website and our social media, as we become obsessively posty about it over the next month or so.
